CHALIBE
As part of the Xacra collection, the Chalibe uses a technique that dates back to the first century, during the era of the Romans in Hispania. To create the Xacra collection we partnered with the last artisan alive who still masters this technique, preserving the craft and preventing this art from extinction. The artisan respects the original technique and the same indigenous clays as his ancestors to maintain the characteristic texture and finish.
Chalibe is the ancient Roman name for the river Cabe, the undiscovered river that carves the narrowest canyons in the Ribeira Xacra region from where the technique originates. Chalibe, despite its size, is the most emblematic piece in the collection. Alone to give character and set the final detail of any space or with the other pieces of the collection, it always stands out.
